Sukhomay Patra had prepared well for IIT JEE 2021 and he expected a good result. “But I did not imagine I would be the district topper!” exclaimed the elated youngster who secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 2613 in IIT JEE 2021.

Sukhomay hails from the Paschim Midnapore district in West Bengal and chose to be coached at Educhem for his IIT JEE prep. He is a student of Kharagpur DAV School. Also he has secured first position amongst all the WBJEE Midnapore candidates with 85 rank in WBJEE. “Online classes needed some getting used too and the internet was also glitchy at times but I managed. It wasn’t any trouble after a while. The situation was adverse for everyone. I tried to gain perfection in the midst of this adversity,” said Sukhomay.

Sukhomay stated that he has been smitten with Science since high school and decided to take up IIT JEE education. “I always liked Math, Physics, Chemistry and by the time I was in Class IX, this love for Science subjects grew,” he said and added that while his parents had always wanted him to be a engineer, he locked in on the field about the same time he discovered his love for Science.

Sharing his success mantra, he said, “We need to trust ourselves in the exam hall and should not stress over the paper. Consistency is another important factor and regular practice is the key to success.”
